Damon Wayans Jr. shares excitement for Scary Movie 6, hoping to write with Marlon Wayans.

Damon Wayans Jr. expressed his enthusiasm for contributing to the writing process of "Scary Movie 6," a project his uncles Marlon, Shawn, and Keenan are eagerly working on. The actor mentioned that he would be delighted to lend his writing skills to the upcoming horror-comedy parody, regardless of whether he appears in the film or not.
Wayans revealed that he has a history of pitching jokes for the "Scary Movie" franchise and other projects like "White Chicks," which his uncles have always appreciated. He humorously added that despite his uncles frequently seeking his input, he often ends up pitching ideas for free. Nevertheless, Wayans remains committed to supporting his family's creative endeavors and is willing to continue offering his comedic expertise without compensation.
The inaugural "Scary Movie" hit the screens back in 2000, a collaborative effort penned and helmed by a talented ensemble including Marlon, Shawn, and Keenan Ivory Wayans, alongside Aaron Seltzer, Jason Friedberg, Buddy Johnson, and Phil Beauman. It was Keenan Ivory Wayans who took the director's helm, while Shawn and Marlon Wayans shone as the film's leading actors. This initial venture kickstarted a franchise that would eventually expand to include four additional installments, although the Wayans brothers stepped away following the second film. Fast forward to the present, and "Scary Movie 6" is on the horizon, slated for a theatrical release with production kicking off in 2025.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Marlon Wayans remarked, "I would love to be part of it. What I really love is how excited they are to be doing it. That’s what I love, because that’s when you’re going to get the good stuff. They don’t feel like they’re doing it for monetary reasons, or otherwise; they're doing it because they want this movie to be the best it can be."
Currently, Marlon Wayans Jr. is captivating audiences in "Shrinking" Season 2 and "Poppa’s House," sharing the screen with his father, Damon Wayans.
The legacy of "Scary Movie" continues to unfold, eagerly anticipated by fans old and new.
